Heart of The City Volunteer Management

Project Background:

  • Create a Volunteer Management System that can track how many hours worked, volunteer sign up, and volunteer retention.
  • Transition volunteer information from paper files to digitally stored.

Responsibilites

  • As the Project Manager, I developed my team’s project plan based on requirements and deliverables gathered during interviews with Heart of the City.
  • Delegated and monitored weekly tasks to ensure scope creeping did not occur.
  • Led and facilitated weekly project status meetings with the CEO and senior board by effectively communicating project milestones, addressing potential roadblocks, and aligning project objectives with strategic company goals to ensure timely and successful delivery of all project deliverables.

Outcome

  • Set-up and executed new online sign-in forms for active volunteers at each of their 3 locations.
  • This system stored all volunteers’ information and hours worked at each location.
  • Created online registration forms for new volunteers to start the transition from physical files to digital files.
